by Stu Cavilla Hello brothers and sisters out there in the ether….(the inter-web thang!) I am only now recovering from the last couple of weeks – 10 nights on the trot around England and Wales! Sitting here as Aerosmith’s ‘Sweet Emotion’ creeps up on my speakers – it seems very appropriate – I would like to thank all who made this first round of The Evil Inside Tour such a humbling success, thanks to all who hung with us on this last long year, thanks to all who came down to bare witness and share in our concerts. Thanks for welcoming us to your beautiful cities and making us feel at home wherever we go, thanks to all the venues who still believe and keep live music alive with their tireless work.
A special thanks to an awesome bunch of people that made up the touring party; Seven Deadly – Bobby,H,Archie,Dave and the legendary Rob who selflessly solved all drum problems – this guy is like Quality Street – made for sharing! Really appreciated and what a great band to open proceedings every night. For The Imperium – if you were lucky enough to catch these guys, you may have witnessed the future of rock as we know it!! Hakim,Jyri,Ville,Tuomas and Carrie (as in the Europe song!) amazing musicians, consumate professionals and mad as you like! You crazy Finns really stepped it up a gear – I loved watching you play every night, shame we couldn’t hang out more…looks like we’ll have to meet in Finland sometime….
Now I come to Left Hand Scared as Joyzi puts it, ( Left Unscarred ) we had to share a bus with this bunch of lads from Middle Earth ( ..or the midlands or something..) What a great experience sharing the bus with Duane,Mark,Ant,Sweatboy and Land Of Leather! You guys were a blast! You really inspired with your enthusiasm and never disappointed onstage or where it really counts….in the back lounge of the bus at four in the morning, busting moves to Tone Loc – Wild thing!
Thanks also to Broken Jaw who played in Bristol and Seethe who opened in Milton Keynes – great bands making some great music!
It has been a humbling experience to be on a tour where not once did ego raise it’s ugly head – sometimes conditions weren’t ideal, and most bands did without a soundcheck and just got on with it, put on an amazing show and really made this tour whole. I hope we all continue to work in that way – together and serve as example for other tours.
A huge thanks to our crew – Jay,Javi,Gary and Mauro – without you guys this chaos would’ve been hell – turned out pretty smooth dontcha think?! Here’s to bringing that chaos to the rest of the world…..( my partners in crime )
Thanks to our driver Ken – who got us everywhere on time, drove us to showers overnight and kept us safe – this man can drive!! much love mate.
To all of you out there we didn’t get to, fear not, for this is only the first part of our tour, we vow to return to the cities and countries you want us to play, stay tuned and watch this space, we’re not done by a longshot – The Evil Inside gets it’s physical release next week, look out for Bring On The Rain on your TV – Kerrang,Scuzz here we come!
Things are about to get a whole lot darker – go get a copy of The Evil Inside , something wicked this way comes…….
